Time flys: 5 months!!

WOW!! Today Madison is 5 months old and I can hardly believe it!! Time is going by super fast and it is starting to scare me now. Tomorrow we will be giving her baby food for the 1st time :) I am so happy how far along we have come as a family. Madison is our world and nothing will ever change that. I will post some more pics of her eating tomorrow and her reaction to the food, it won't be fruit either :) Until next time.. muahahaha ;)

Madison: America's Next Rolling Stone

On September 21, Madison rolled over onto her tummy unassisted for the first time. it was so funny because at first she didn't realize what she did, then she almost cried. We cheered her on and of course I got a hold of my handy dandy camera!! So, this footage is from the second time she rolled over :) Now, all she does is roll over and today she figured out how to roll onto her tummy, then roll back onto her back, she is getting so big..

YES, I KNOW WE NEED TO GET A NEW CAMERA WITH BETTER QUALITY VID FOOTAGE :)

On September 20, we decided to go to the pool because I wnated to get a tan. Well, we also decided it would be the first time we would dunk Madi in the water. We did and she wasn't a happy camper, but she will thank us one day :) I don't want to post the pics of her crying, so here are some others yall might enjoy :)

The smallest flip-flops I have ever seen (oh & they are Roxy;] )

Once a Marine, Always a Marine..

Today is September 15, 2009!! What is so special aobut that? Today is my last day serving as a United States Marine. It has been fun with ups and downs, but it is now my time to move on. It is very ironic I heard "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey earlier because that songs sums up my Marine Corps career. I have met some really great people and have made friendships that will last forever! At the same time, I served my country and served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and enjoyed every bit of it. God speed and Semper Fidelis..

This is a picture of Private First Class Nevares, Private Nunez [me], and Private Vasco on our boot camp graduation @ Parris Island, South Carolina [April 2, 2004] We are all friends to this day :)

Craft my ♥ part II / Cabbage Patch Surprise/ She's a big girl now!!

Now that I am all caught up with updating pictures and such, time for some fun. While we were back home, we bought Madison her very 1st Halloween costume!! She is going to be Tinkerbell. The only problem is, the costume didn't come with shoes. So, the crafty side of me kicked in to 5th gear :) I covered some slippers she had with lime green felt and glued a craft fur ball on the toe. They came out super cute and I cannot wait until she takes her Halloween photos. The next item on my craft to do list was to put pink bows on Madison's 1st pair of cowboy boots and cowboy hat. I love the boots and the hat is just ok. Any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated :) When I was in the States, I bought this frame at Marshall's [One of my favorite stores ever!!] for only $4!! She will be taking cowgirl photos in November.

The last item on my list was to complete my very 1st diaper cake for a friend back home. I absolutely love the way it came out and hope she feels the same way. It came out pretty darn cute for my 1st one, don't you think?? Now my only problem is, trying to find a reliable method to ship it around the world!!

Ever since Madison was born, she has looked like a Cabbage Patch Doll. I have always told Ben when I get a chance to go Stateside, I am going to buy Madison one. I found one (newborn surprise) that looks a little like her with blue eyes and no hair, hehe :) At first, I was sad because I tohugh it was a boy because it had no hair, but it was a girl!! Her name is Jane :) Madison was so intrigued by it and it was small enough for her to hold. These are the moments that I will treasure in my heart forever!!

My baby girl is growing so fast. Everyday she learns something new and outgrows another outfit, tear. She loved her toy her G-Pa bought her!!

This is the 1st time we put her in her jogger without the carseat!!

M&M :) The 1st time I put a bow on her hair and it stayed, lol

Month in review..

Today is Sunday, September 13 here in Japan. Since I haven't had the energy to update, I will start with the most recent, followed by our departure from Japan.

First, I want to say God bless America and all of the fallen heroes and innocent people who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!! Next, to all of the men and women who support and defend our constitution and the ones who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the American people from future terrorists attacks, BLESS YOU ALL!! On September 11, both Ben and I took Madison to participate in her 1st Freedon Walk. It was a beautiful day and definately one to remember. I was so impressed by her during the minute of silence at 0846, she was so quiet.

This was during Morning Colors (the playing of our National Anthem and Japan's)

This is us right before we stepped off

As we begin our walk directly behind Engine 1 MCAS Iwakuni FD

The final picture from the Freedom Walk was in the Chapel following the minute of silence..

On August 29, Madison and I began our journey back to the United States. This was her first time on an airplane and it was super cute, she loved take off and slept through almost every landing. She is such a great baby and I received many compliments from other passengers on all of our flights.

Madison's 1st visit to the United States was a blast, but sad because Ben couldn't go with us. We will be home again on December 15 to January 5!!, Ben will be with us, so watch out :) During that time period, we will also be going to Texas to meet Ben's family and her soon to be Godparent's Brandy and Luke.
